Every Saniflo macerator pump will give years of trouble-free use if you follow the instructions given, with the first two years being fully guaranteed by a manufacturer’s warranty.
Those instructions include advice on regular cleaning and other maintenance, which may lead you to ask: ‘what is the best Saniflo toilet cleaner to use?’

Saniflo Descaler is specially formulated for use with all Saniflo products to help with trouble-free use and maintenance.
Other products simply don’t work as well, and can in fact cause damage to the internal operations of the unit.
Regular use of other toilet cleaners or ordinary household bleach can damage the rubber membrane that covers the switch that governs when the macerator unit turns itself on and off.
The switch becomes overly sensitive when the membrane is damaged. It means that if you have a wooden floor, for example, even the vibrations from just walking past could set the trigger off. Similarly, the unit may continue to operate for much longer than necessary after a flush, until it eventually turns itself off almost at random or else overheats.
